Empowering Midwifery & Maternal Rights in NC
NC Friends of Midwives is a community-focused advocacy group dedicated to expanding access to midwifery care and protecting maternal rights across North Carolina. Our mission is to ensure every family has the right to choose their birth setting and provider while fostering a supportive environment for midwives to thrive.
Our Advocacy
We believe that every family in North Carolina deserves access to safe, respectful, and evidence-based midwifery care. Advocacy is the heartbeat of our organization—ensuring that the voices of parents and midwives are heard in our state legislature. By focusing on legislative reform, maternal rights, and community education, we work to remove barriers and create a landscape where midwifery thrives. Our work matters because birth is a foundational human experience, and families deserve the right to choose the care that aligns with their values and needs.
